At the time, the beach looked incredibly bright and sparkly to my eyes. Unfortunately, however, the DSLR, iPhone and film images that I took were as flat as a pancake! I had to make some severe processing adjustments to introduce a bit of life into them.
It's a shame that the strong contrast of bright beach scenes sensed by the brain is often not picked up by the camera. It's a known issue with digital cameras but I've found it occurs with film cameras too.
With these Holga images, the scanning and contrast adjustments are particularly difficult because the vignetting tends to clip to black, which looks horrible.
